Things I learnt along the way.

FINE. I'll do it.

I don't expect everyone to do everything.

I do expect people to care what happens next.

Sometimes I wonder if people now just assume that if something is left undone, I'll eventually do it.

The workload on my desk is getting ridiculous.
But I care too much to leave things undone.
Because undone means products aren't getting sold.

Mr Boss seems to be perfectly fine with me just doing the work when other teams leave things unfinished.

I'm not fine with that.

And Mr Boss knows I'm not fine with that.

I've told him.

He just ignores my feedback.

I get upset.
Frustrated.
Sad.
Doesn't anyone care?

Don't they realise that if something isn't done, the product isn't getting sold?

If the product isn't getting sold, the company isn't making money from it. If the company isn't making money, it's losing money.
And eventually, losing money means savings.

And let's be honest.

Savings usually mean cutbacks.
Sometimes layoffs.

So I look at the unfinished work sitting there.

I know it shouldn't be mine.
I know I've already said something.
I know that doing it myself doesn't solve the actual problem.

Quite the opposite.

But I also know what happens if nobody does it.

So.

FINE.

I'll do it.
